The structure and properties of solutions of a third order nonlinear autonomous ordinary differential equation are discussed. Inequalities which show the connection between initial values of solutions are considered. Also zero properties of solutions are provided. Zero properties are used to establish results on the estimation of the number of solutions to boundary value problem.
